ROSE ESSENTIAL OIL:

 Rose essential oil is widely used as a skin care ingredient and can be used on the skin as is, mixed with glycerine, or to replace all or part of the water in skin care formulations.
The essential oil of rose is extracted by steam distillation of fresh Rose (Rosa Damascena, as it is known among botanists) and is composed of hundreds of components, out of which the major contributors are citronellol, citral, carvone, citronellyl acetate, eugenol, ethanol, farnesol, stearpoten, methyl eugenol, nerol, nonanol, nonanal, phenylacetaldehyde, phenylmethyl acetate, and phenyl geraniol. [2]Damascus Roses are the preferred variety because they are the most fragrant species and are believed to be the original red roses with the strongest aroma and highest oil content.
